The English Market location

Open Monday–Saturday | 8am – 6pm

Situated in the heart of Cork City, the English Market has been trading since 1788. Developed and still owned by Cork City Council, it is one of the oldest municipal markets of its kind in the world.

Home to vibrant stalls, fresh local produce and independent traders, the market has been at the centre of Cork’s food culture for generations and remains a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike.

Be sure to stop by the Farmgate Café, perched above the market, where you can enjoy seasonal dishes made using ingredients sourced directly from the stalls below.

The Black Market

Open Wednesday – Sunday and Bank Holidays | 9am/10am – 8.00pm

The Black Market is a boutique-style food market offering fantastic food and drink in a unique and trendy setting. From speciality coffee and craft drinks to flavourful street food, it's a great spot to sample a mix of local and international bites, with bold murals lining the walls adding to the market's creative and urban atmoshphere.

Start with a coffe from SOMA, a Cork-owned specialty coffee roaster with a roastery located right here in The Black Market. Don't miss the Pie Guy's famous Beef & Beamish pie, a true Cork favourite, and check out Tongue Tied, a popular sandwich vendor run by local business owners known for their delicious food and their own range of signature hot sauces.

Located in Ballintemple, The Black Market is perfectly placed for visitors exploring the nearby Marina Greenway along the River Lee or heading to a match or concert at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

With over 35 incredible food and drink vendors, Marina Market offers a diverse and exciting range of flavours. From classic Irish favourites to international cuisines, there is something to satisfy every craving.
